Reply with quote | #5 | Hello Everyone. We really liked the House of Blues but with the traffic and the threat of a Cav's home playoff game, we decided to move it. We are going to start on the upper portion of Edgewater Park, run down Lake Avenue to Webb and return. We will return by going thru Battery Park on Detroit Avenue and run down the tunnel you see on the south side of the shoreway and then finish on the lower level of Edgewater Park. The course map will be posted soon. We are working on the post-race festivities and will keep you posted. We hope everyone will like the new course. We are also going to be working with the City of Lakewood and Panera Bread to get some great crowd support on Lake Avenue. |

Reply with quote | #6 | The HOB and the downtown start/finish has made the 10-Miler my favorite yearly race. The best course was the one that crossed the Lorain-Carnegie and Detroit bridges. Even the first year when the weather was miserable, it was still cool. Being downtown made the race feel like a marathon, just on a more accessible scale. And the location was perfect for pre + post-race events.
While I'm sure Hermes is doing its best to stage another good event, Edgewater is an uninspiring choice. Unless the weather is great the park is windy and desolate, and is near nothing that is walkable. I'm sure it will still be a decent event, but it's a bummer that the course has moved to Edgewater.

The Bridges to Recovery race on March 29th, although only a 5k, crossed the Detroit-Superior Bridge and then the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge... Just as an FYI... |

Reply with quote | #9 | It's actually a Hermes race, go to calendar of events and click on March - it's listed under March 29th (not sure why it's not showing up on Hermes home page for upcoming events yet).
Need any more info let me know, the course map is also there once you get to the Event Information page on the race. |

Post-race festivities will take place at the lower portion of Edgewater Park, by the finish line. __________________ Aparna Pillay

Reply with quote | #13 | I agree Gale--between the choices of the Marginal and todays course, I'd vote for todays. Maybe not perfect, but a heck of a lot better |
